What affects the value of a watch?

As an example, we compare two watches and explain what we look at in a valuation: brand and model, age, condition, box and papers, and service history.

The video is in Estonian.

TYPES OF ITEMS

What we value

  • Wristwatches
  • Watches with box and papers
  • Watches whose model needs to be identified

What is taken into account in the valuation?

  • Brand, model or reference and movement type, if known.
  • Condition of the case and dial, how the watch works and known servicing.
  • Original box, papers and parts of the set; authenticity needs to be checked separately.

Which photos and details should I add?

Add the manufacturer, model and approximate age. Photograph the dial, the caseback and any documents. Do not disclose the full serial number.

Mention known faults and when the watch was last serviced. A box or papers can be useful, but you can start without them.

You don't need to know everything. Leave an optional field empty or choose “Don't know”. Photos are recommended, but you can continue without them.

Ordinary phone photos are fine. Please do not include personal data in the photos.

Preliminary valuation and final offer

Based on your description and photos, we give a preliminary valuation. It is not binding. We make the final offer once we have examined the item. The request does not oblige you to sell.

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Can I start without the model number?

Yes. Add the brand name if you know it and clear photos of the dial and caseback. You do not need to guess the missing model.

Are the box and papers necessary?

They help describe the set and its origin. If you do not have them, mention it in the form. Papers alone do not confirm that a watch is genuine.

Can I describe a watch that does not work?

Yes, you can also describe a watch that needs repair. Describe the fault and known service history; the need for repair affects the offer.
